Benjamin E. Lowenthal is a second-generation trial lawyer who grew up on Maui, Hawaii. His legal career began after graduating from the University of Kansas working as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Corinne K. A. Watanabe at the Intermediate Court of Appeals in Honolulu. Then for nearly ten years he worked in private practice with clients in state and federal courts. He earned a solid reputation as a straightforward, thoughtful, and professional advocate in civil, administrative, criminal, and appellate proceedings.
Benjamin spent eight years at Hawaii's Office of the Public Defender. As a trial lawyer, Benjamin took on some of the most challenging and complicated cases from the first appearance in court up to the Hawaii Supreme Court. Before leaving public service, he was promoted to Supervisor for the office's appeals and parole division overseeing cases throughout the State.
